Avril Lavigne

Napanee�s own Avril Lavigne had her first record deal at age 16, making her musical dreams a reality.

Her first hit big came in the summer of 2002 with her debut song "Complicated". Avril broke a record set by none other than Madonna by holding onto the number one spot on the Contemporary Hit Radio chart for 11 weeks in a row. Other singles from her debut album such as "Complicated", "Sk8er Boi", "I'm With You", and "Losing Grip" took the world by storm and made the small-town girl a household name across the globe.

Avril�s second album, "Under My Skin" appeared in May 2004 and has also been a great success. Hits such as "Don't Tell Me" and "My Happy Ending" has solidified Avril�s role as a superstar.

Avril Lavigne has homes in Los Angeles, Manhattan and in Europe, and spends much of her time recording and touring throughout the world. Although she no longer lives in Napanee, she still considers it home, and still finds time to visit from time to time.
